of working on your chevelle? i know that i have come along way but it just seems like im never going to finish it. first i statred with buying my 67 chevelle just wanting to prime it one color and then drive it. now i have the car off the frame, interior is all brand new and just sitting in the garage covered up waiting to be all put back togther, and the brand new gm crate 350 with less than 5000 miles on it was pulled and now i have a 396on the stand. but i just dont think im going to finish! maybe someday!

I feel for ya. Keep on going. At a certain point it will all of a sudden just start coming together and you will get excited to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Trust me, I wanted to quit a few times but made myself work on it. KEEP GOING. Scott

I just take a break then pick it up on a day or so. I also switch from one task to the next and usually have a few areas that I'm working on at any given time...

I also read posts here and on another car site (stevesnovasite) and see what other have been doing - that gives me some inspiration...

yep it helps to visit here and see other guys gett'n it done....lil inspiration to keep going.

I never did buy the "its never finished" thing. When I get my 66SS the way I like it, thats it. I plan to keep it that way and drive and enjoy it. I might make a change if I need to and maintain what needs to be, but after that im done and plan to move on to my next project. I dont have the time to have several projects going on anyways. I still have an 80's Maibu waiting and still have to drive 5 hours to get my 66 Malibu wagon and bring that back home.

Yes. I havent driven it in at at least 8 months. I have put off the new clutch it needs for a year. And I have been thinking of selling for a while now.
I don't know if its just changing priorities or a lack of interest, or what.

I know where you are coming from. My 70 pro street has been nothing but modify this, modify that, try this part, it doesn't fit get a different part, usally the third try fits  I walked away last September and probably have only spent a whole week on it since) I have about a solid week of work to fire it up, but I walk in the shop to work on it and find other things to do instead. I just can't seem find the motivation. Sooner or later it'll get done. The big advantage I have is having Old Blue to drive around or I can take the Raptor to the dunes and flog on it some too.

Unfortunately work is in the way right now. I am on day 7 of 11 straight and 12 hours shifts don't leave me much time to do much else (at least I can still get on here and look at other folks rides )

Yep some day..........:D

When my project came home, it was basically a frame with a tin shell on it. I just made it a point to turn at least one nut or bolt every night after work, sometimes 2 or 3, In less then 3 months I was able to drive it. Now however I kinda wished I would have spent more time doing the detail work instead of just bolting it together. But now Im having so much fun driving it on the weekends I can look past the rattle can primer on the body. As a matter of fact I just crawled out from under it after installing jegster lower rear control arms, Just waiting for my powertrax unit to show up then the 331 rear is going in along with a set of traction bars. I know it isn't pretty, but when I punch it and the cowl door flips open its all good! Jim
