HOW WOULD YOU KNOW
because ive watched some of it and it sucks ****. you don't need to be gay to know what gay is...

with your logic, if YOU yourself are not gay, how would you know you wouldn't like it unless you tried. so unless you have "tried" being gay, you don't know if you are gay or not. so according to you, you might deep down inside be gay...who knows:thumbsup:

Well I gave in and watched the last two episodes tonight.

I knew the chevelle would win since that camaro had no chance in hooking.

Overall, decent show but really the only episode worth watching was the last one imo.

 someone help... I think I might be gay now.

Did the winning school get to keep the other car...? What did i miss...?

For those of you missed it...Man did you guys miss it. Overall it was a great show and its damn shame they dont make more like this. Really wish I had a chance to do something like that in high school. They did some butchering and made mistakes...But we all have, In the end both schools pull together to low 8second cars that looked nothing short of serious bussiness. The chevelle came out looking badass!!! Really happy with the way it turned out. Really did have an old gasser theme to it.

I caught the last few episodes and thought it was pretty good. I missed the rules though. Did they have a 750 HP limit on motor? If so, how stupid is that if they don't limit the nitrous?

The Chevelle team outsmarted the Camaro team big time. They built a mild motor that made 580 HP and fogged the crap out of it. The Camaro guys built a stronger motor (720HP) but only had a plate system. It wasn't even close.

The mullet guy was pissed!!!

I think the Chevelle was using a progressive nitrous system as well. That is a huge hole in the rule book about the amount of nitrous.

What did the Chevelle do for a suspension? I think they gave up on a back half and went with a 10.5 inch tire and factory 4 link???

Yeah it was. I knew it wouldn't be a race when they showed Monte Smith playing with the nitrous tune on the Chevelle. Game over for the Camaro at that point.
I dont know if you heard what he said, it didnt come on till 7 secs after the launch. I think the feathered the gas on the dyno. I think.....? I guess it was better than last seasons show.

I heard something to that effect, but I though he meant the second stage of the kit?

I believe the dyno was NA only to make sure they didn't exceed the numbers set as a maximum?

I could be wrong on both as I was hanging new blinds for the wife while watching. I just wanted to see the race portion. I think I want a BB now!!

* Saw the car in person at the SD new car show late last year. Pretty darn good work given a "high school" budget.

* Didn't see the episodes, but they had already installed the serious foggers at the auto show. That car was billed as one of the attractions. If I were the other school, I would have seriously looked at what those guys were displaying. Maybe they did and put on a entry level plate to make them feel secure...oooops.

* Local papers talked about the differences between the schools. IIRC, the teacher from Oceanside / Chevelle got suspended during the show for doing stupid/non roll model stuff with the kids. Kids thought it was cool until the teacher didn't get paid. Teacher ended up apologizing, on the record, for his reckless behavior. You know, when California starts cutting teachers this June due to budget issues....

* If you go to the El Camino section of this site, the teacher originally did a posting there. He was originally going to use an El Camino.

This is the article I read awhile back...

------------------------

A brick – the Class Clown in Overdrive award – to Steven Jennings, the obviously talented but painfully immature auto shop teacher at El Camino High School.

You can understand why Oceanside school trustees are conflicted about what to do with Jennings, who's been placed on administrative leave since it was discovered that he'd allowed his students to run riot while being taped in the fall for the reality show “Drag Race High,” now airing Wednesday nights on the Speed Channel.

It appears that Jennings, 29, let the egged-on craziness of reality TV go to his head.

During school activities, it's often said, teachers act in loco parentis, or “in place of parents.” Well, in Spanish, Jennings' behavior seems truly loco.

In addition to failing to stop vandalism and dangerous driving, Jennings also admitted to asking a student to lie to police during an investigation of speeding around the football field after a TV taping.

Granted, Jennings appears to be a popular – and likely “cool” – teacher who motivated his students to build a race car that beat the time of a vehicle created by students at Ramona High School, an auto-shop powerhouse.

We love winners. Jennings and his class of high-achieving cutups are in the winner's circle. They shut down Ramona. Yes, they behaved badly, leading to arrests. But as a team, they did accomplish an amazing goal.

In contemplating whether to bring Jennings back from administrative leave or fire him, board members must weigh his childish lack of judgment against his track record of motivating kids, many of whom might profit by careers in the automobile industry.

No matter which way the trustees go, Jennings has no one to blame but himself. And that's the pits.

"Yes, they behaved badly, leading to arrests." Sorry, he lost my tax paying, California budget crisis vote for renewal. There are a LOT of highly qualified/motivated teachers in SoCal sitting on the bench. Next auto teacher please step forward....
