454 th350 (shift kit) 3inch dual (no crossover,no header) 3.73 posi - have

Adding Edelbrock oval air gap intake, looking at a speed demon 750 cfm carb - or should I go smaller? Cam with less than 240 duration @ .050.
 
A 750 carb should be the smallest carb to consider for a 454..even a mild one will appreciate a 750
A good all around convertor for a stock to mild 454 is the B+M 2400 Holeshot.
I have used this convertor behind a stock 454 and with my combo..works well.

If I keep the stall stock, and make the modifications I am looking at what difference will there be without the stall. I have a friend who has offered to give me a 3000 stall, but I am not keen on pulling my engine if I don't need to?
 
Go with a Holley 750 Vac. sec.
 
Stall converters probably the most over looked performance piece out there. I'd change it just for the reasurance you know it won't ballon or whatever and ruin your engine
