You can buy one from JEGS a lot cheaper than that one ,I bought a 190 HP GM crate motor from them for $1207 to my door ,they are a little higher now .They offer a 290 HP GM crate motor for around $2000 if I am remembering correctly delivered to your door .Either one is good for a daily driver .I have 1 of each and I actually like the lower HP one in my truck ,the 72 Malibu Convertible got the 290 HP.

The 190 horse engine can be 260 easily without the smog. It's on sale at Jegs for $1459 free shipping right now. It is a brand new made in Mexico piece but great for a stock type driver. All you need to add is a balancer, an intake and carb and a distributor, fuel pump etc.

Actually, Jegs just ran a sale on these last week...$1375 shipped.
Awesome deal!!

might want to search around a little, not on their site, for reviews. Notice how they avoid talking about warranty when pushing product? Careful as you go there. Ask them for written versions of their warranty, notice what it does and does not cover, like expense for R&R of problem engine and and transportation of that engine to and from their shop.

"Pull it out, send it in at your expense, we'll look it over and make a determination." is the same as no warranty at all.

I am receiving an ATK 350 hp Vortec roller motor today, via UPS freight. 2600 bucks, delivered. ATK is a forum vendor. I ordered mine through Summit to avoid sales tax...... Sorry, Notalent...:):). Can't wait to get it installed!

Why not have one of the forum sponsors build you a crate motor? Some excellent engine builders on this forum.

Moderator deleted my post because I linked to another site's ad. Can't understand why - there are two other linked ads on this thread.

I guess I pi$$ed Tom off on another thread.

I have one in my Truck( Goodwrench 350)as we speak. Any problem I had, I simply took the Truck to the local Chevy dealer with the paperwork from SD and they resolved my issue all under warranty, no questions asked. Of course Paperwork is the Key. Date installed, Mileage at install, Etc.
