Start in the middle of the back and work your way outward toward each side. You should be able to stretch it without the other side popping off then. You may need to use some heat from a hair dryer to loosen it up some of its brand new and cold.
On the Interior to the side of the seats where the ashtray is.. They cover the side of the top frame and the hydraulic cylinders. Should be some snaps there..
I have the clips installed properly. When I get some on one side the other side break loose. Any trick to stretching the boot? It is new. the top is down as far as it will go and clip to the safety latches.
There should be a couple snaps on each cylinder cover and a series of snaps attached to the chrome moulding in front of the trunk lid. Most 60's GM convertibles have that type of boot attachment.
