Greetings, I may be considering downsizing soon and may possibly be selling one of my Chevelles. If I move forward I wish to sell it by word of mouth as I hear too many stories about tire kickers and week end shoppers. Too many low ball offers out there by those only interested in flipping the car. I know the members here are mostly true enthusiasts therfore I would appreciate an honest opinion as to the value of my Chevelle SS hardtop just based on a fair description. I have owned the car for 15 years. I know there are a lot of nice paint jobs out there but many nice cars do not have a traceable history as this one does and many have had extensive body work. This car has a patina and is very close to a survivor.

Description:
- a true SS396, numbers matching 325HP 79K original miles
- automatic with console (Powerglide gone years ago now Turbo 350)
- full instrumentation package with factory knee knocker tach
- power steering and brakes
- factory air (compressor in need of repair)
- tinted windows
- solid no hit body, all original sheet metal
- interior and dash very good condition
- Fawn two tone interior with buckets
- rare Cameo Beige exterior
- solid trunk and floor pans
- not a show car but a nice clean driver
- have good documentation back to original owner.
- orignally a Southern car.

Thanks

The first off welcome John, I'm sure you will find some this site to be a good resource.

I personally would suggest you get in touch with Mike Crown, who goes by 66 MYSTERY CHEVELLE. He is probably one of the most informed here when is comes to the true market value for the 66/67 chevelles. You can get in touch thru his website or I'm sure he will chime in on this thread as soon as he gets a sniff about post with a survivor 66. http://mysterychevelle.com/

And to draw from the masses here you will need pics and lots of them. This site is comprised of a lot of true chevelle enthusiasts and as such, the most knowledgable will not casually toss around values (especially when talking about our prized possessions). So to get the most out of the experience from the members here you need provide as much detailed information as possible with as many pics as possible.

Good luck, sounds like a great car.

Hi John,

Welcome to Team Chevelle! Sounds like a nice car you have. Ditto on what Herb said...contact Mike Crown. No one knows 66's better. Not only can he give you a an honest idea of what you can expect from your car, he can help you sell it if you wish. He has helped me buy/sell many times...he's good! Seems he always has people looking for particular 66-67's...who knows, he may have someone looking for one like yours. ;)

Thanks all, I have sent Mike an email. If I decide to sell it has to be for a fair price and to someone who will appreciate the car. I am hearing about too many folks looking for a fire sale. I do not have to sell but I am at that fork in the road and have decisions to make.
Thanks and Happy New to all !!
