I got an old instrument cluster from someone and transferred the clock over to mine but it's not working. I didn't have the clock harness so wired it up myself but it was really difficult to find out which one is +. Does anyone know? If I did it wrong, is it broken? What else could be the problem?

Thanks

It's a '70 Malibu. The wiring diagram shows a connector with the spades perpendicular to each other. Maybe it's just broken then...

The OEM clocks were DAMNED UNRELIABLE when they were new.

There are (or at least there were, recently) at least two replacement mechanisms available for ditching the OEM "clockworks" and replacing with a modern equivalent.

Having said that, the OEM clock in my Toronado works like a champ except for gaining about five minutes a day. (which is adjustable but I'd have to take the dash apart to access it, and I'm TOO LAZY.)
