Exactly, distributor hasn't been touched. . I will check it tomorrow though i guess anyway. Haven't had much time to work on it between jobs. But tmrw night my bro is going to come by and well try a few things. Anyone ever have a module go bad in the distributor and still get spark but no start?
Edit: quick thought. With vacuum advance with the hose coming off the distributor around 7 o'clock/730 right now uf i turned 180 it would be at the firewall...if it would even clear it

My China, OFF shore, Junk Alum. $100.00 HEI,,,,, ATE Modules, 6 in one summer, I am dam good a changing them out. Had to do something. Went to a chevy Dealer and bought a new G.M.--H.E.I.
OH, Did I mention, I have NOT touched the G.M.-HEI in 6 years.
With no respect for China stuff.

Finding T.D.C............. Like I said in my first post. " USE YOUR FINGER ".As the piston is comming up ,,,It will blow your finger off the plug hole, I think this means, Valves are closed, Piston is on Compression Stroke.
THIS is the T.D.C. of the Comp. stroke and number 1 plug is going to see a few thousand volts.
If the module is fried, It WILL NOT fire or even try to start.

Wow so my brother and i finally had a chance to play with the car for a bit. We took a quick look at things before starting. Starter and battery-check, fuel-check, spark-looks good. Crank and nothing as usual. I remember back a while i was searching firing orders(when i got the motor from my brother there were no plugs or wires installed) and i had seen something about counter clockwise firing orders and had taken a screen shot. So i say lets try swapping the wires around, just in case. The thing was popping and chugging and cranking and the whole car was shaking and was the closest to starting it has been yet. But im sure its flooded at this point as was backfiring. So i pulled the plugs and gonna let it sit til tomorrow and try again. Now the motor was out of his 69 chevelle. Its a 3970010 block but has been decked so the number is not on the front pad anymore. Im just wondering what this could have been originally out of that the firing order would be counter clockwise???? I will post tomorrow after we get it started ;) or so i hope

So thanks to all who gave suggestions. Finally got the car fired up today. We checked the timing, even though the distributor never got moved or bumped. It was installed one tooth off by the previous owner . Since my bro had pulled the plugs and wires we had nothin to go by except how it should've been wired. So after seeing where the rotor was at tdc of cyl 1 we moved all the wires over one spot clockwise and the thing runs like a dream.
