i run a titan oil pump in my bbc,and as an upgrade titan offers a bronze dist. gear with a hex keyway and the pump also has the same hex keyway,they supply the hex shaft,and it gets rid of the chevy "fork" style drive altogether

since i run the crane steel coated gear,i would like to broach my gear for a hex keyway

the existing hole is .500,so a 1/2" keyway will be needed

know of any machine shops that do broaching???

Its possible that if its steel its too hard to broach however if its not hardend an allen wrench ground off perfectly square (I udo this on a surface grinder) will make a good broach. Any machine shop with a decent tool maker can do it.

It could be EDM'd too... :yes:
Wouldn't matter how hard the steel is either.
