Body bushing replacement.

Just bought new rubber body bushings from ground up for my 68 and didn't get any directions with them. Further, the bolts I received aren't really like the ones that were pulled out, so I'm a little lost. Does anyone have any pictures of what goes where and most importantly how they go together. Some bolts go up, some down, Do I sandwich the frame between the two parts?

could use some help here. Know of any existing threads? Yes I did a search and didn't really find much. I admit I only went back a year though.

Thanks

I have a 1968 and the guy that owned it prior to me had started replacing all the bushings on the car with a set from Energy Suspension but never finished. Needless to say I only found some of the instuctions. I went to their website and was able to download all of them that were missing. Try looking at the manufactures website. I noted on the installation instructions that some of the old bolts were to be reused. I hope this helps.

Ken,

Thats a great resource. thanks. Pictures are the best. :) I wonder if it's all the same for the 68?

Anyone else have a close-up pic of one installed or a breakdown?

Ken. I've got the body bushings in but not the rad support. I can't remember how they go. Got any pix of that? Thanks.
Sorry for hijacking the thread.

Chris. Look at the second picture Ken posted.
The Bushings are two piece. The larger piece with the "male" end goes on top of the frame (between the frame and body) with the "male end pointing down through the hole. The smaller end goes up from underneath. The trick is getting the bolt lined up with the hole in the body. I left my body suspended about an inch over the mount. Then using a long screw driver, I lined up the frame under it. As you install bolts, Only turn them in about 1 to 2 turns. I started with the front (firewall) mounts first, Then the ones at the rear of the doors then the tail. The ones at the center of the door are "dummy" bushings. They have no bolts.
Sorry for the Novel. Did this help?

Apparently, not all Factory Assembly Instruction Manual reprints are created equal. I took a look at the page that Ken had posted and thought gee, I've never seen that page before. I looked through my reprint manual (my manual's page numbers are hand written - not stamped like Ken's) and nowhere could this page be found. Makes me wonder what else might be missing. Oh, in case you are wondering, I bought mine from OPGI.

Thanks Ken. Looks to be the same. I just couldn't remember if it pointed up, Down, sandwiched the frame or the support. I got it now!!! Got work to do tomorrow!!! LOL
