New 421 SBC broken in, dyno’d and installed: 525HP 5500, 570TQ 4200.
Now for the break in process of a Tremec TKX 5 speed and single disc clutch from automatic to manual swap, and a 10 bolt to a complete QP 9” rear assembly swap with yukon center section with 3.89 gears. The entire drivetrain is brand new. Basically it’s a new ‘old’ car. I’m just thinking of the cycling and cooling aspect of it without beating on it ‘yet’. Then the fluid changes to remove any break in crap.

PS And yes new Wilwood front and rear disc to stop this Heavy Chevy 👍🏼.

Thank you for your feedback.

As far as break in I'd run rpm's up and down but nothing crazy, but the race engine builder that that had my engine on the dyno broke it in for 15-20 min under 4,000 rpm IIRC, then he put the load on it and took it to 6,200 for a half dozen or so pulls, trans & rear maybe 200-500 miles without really beating on it ??

Nice job, your engine is already broken in and because I haven't owned manual trans car in several years I'd just say drive it for a few miles and run it. You might cycle the trans and rear end a few times and have a blast. Don't forget to check your brakes. Nice car.(y)

Engine should be good to go. You will want to break in the rear by heat cycling it. Somewhere online are instructions, or just call QP, their tech line is pretty good..... on the trans you just really need to break in the clutch, again there is lots of info online....
Looks great!!

Engine is already broken in. Run the trans and rear end through a few hot cold cycles, I'd take it down a highway for a little stretch at speed, more or less to get everything good and hot, and to check for vibrations etc. How do you like that transmission so far? I'm actually looking at getting 1 of those for each of my cars.

Break in for a full new rear axle. Get yourself an infrared thermometer. Most do not recommend synthetic lube. Take 3, 20-30 mile round trips and check temp. Fully cooled between trips, documentating temps. Take 2, 50 mile trips the same. Change lube and you should be good to go. All those new parts need time to fit together.

Black looks good. Your car will be a blast and should be plenty fast.
Get yourself a filter cut open tool and check every time you change filter. You need to leave it upside down to let oil drain out before you cut open. Check and if you think all is good turn upside down again. Let it sit for a week or so. Sometimes the oil between the pleetes can look like shiny metal particles.
