Maybe its not so much a value added, but if and when you decide to sell, the buckets make it easier to sell because most folks perfer a bucket seat interior.
I've got both, my chevelle is a bucket/console 4 speed, the 71 elky is a bucket/console automatic. my 68 went from a bench to bucket seats. The 68 is a daily driver, we ended up putting a bench seat back into it after about 2 months.
Funny thing, I just got a smokin deal on a set of chevelle bucket seats last night. Now Im trying to convince myself, do I have them redone in cloth and try buckets again. Or just leave the bench in it and use the bucket seats for trading material. jim

Hey all, new to the forum and working on my 72 Malibu. It has a benchseat, and with my young boys, I figure I'll keep it that way. They'll both have fun riding in the front seat.

Would anybody know if El Camino bench seats would fit in the Malibu?

If so, would there be a range of years say, 70-75 (for example) would fit in the 72 Malibu. Wasn't sure given the G-body vs. A-body, but saw a craigslist pic and called the seller. He said his friend put a 74 El Camino in his 72, but he wasn't sure.

Thanks again everyone!

you can make anything fit, but the 68-72 bench is a bolt in. My 68 bench didnt come with headrests, Ive got a 72 bench with headrests now. It was a direct bolt in. jim
