Thanks Jody. My 496 dynoed at 640 lb ft of torque so I maybe should look at something else.

From the insides of the ones I saw, they appear to be stock T5 cut 2.95 ratio style gears just a longer cluster with a center support. I don't recall them ever having a lower helix angle unless they recently changed something. I think the rating really is not true and this box would make a great 5 speed for drivers not drag racing.

I have one in a 57 chevy and like it. I had a TKO 500 before this and there is no comparison as far as easy shifting. With the compact body there is no fighting to bolt it in like the TKO. I changed the shifter to a Pro 5.O from a driveline components shifter as I am not a big fan of Red Roberts shifters. I got a real good deal from Jegs and free shipping which I did not expect. Im satisfied so far. Steve

I got my LGT700 from Jody. Even though I still haven't gotten it on the road quite yet, you may want to check them out. The fit was almost perfect. :beers:
What's a ballpark figure on one of those? Is it the .80 fifth gear?

Jon has the .69:1 OD ratio with his Legend700, the .80:1 is due out by the end of September 2015.

Here is an easy to use final drive formula to use when engineering a driveline on paper. I'll showcase both Legend700 OD ratios for this exercise.

Any RPM x Any OD Ratio = Effective RPM

I'll choose 3000 RPM as the input, but any RPM and any OD ratio can be used.

3000 x .69 = 2070 RPM
3000 x .80 = 2400 RPM

Thanks Jody - I'm just trying to get a comparison between the two for my '67 El Camino which will be primarily driven on the street. Planning for a 396 @ approximately 450hp with a 3.73 gear. Best bang for the buck so to speak.

.69:1 would compliment a 3.73:1 on the street.

OK . The shifter location ....... Are you able to use the stock 4 speed console location
1964/65 ???
That and does the Legend require cutting a gaping hole in the floor?

Jody can locate the shifter in a few different locations. You may need to send some pics of the trans. tunnel and snap a couple of the inside interior tunnel from sitting in the back seat. no cuttung on floor either & you can retain console.. i have a Legend on order from Jody. give him a call, he is a straight up guy and can answer all of these questions better then I.
