I am told that 70 SS front turn signal lenses should be clear. I have an original 70 SS with orange lenses. I also have an original 70 SS dealer brochure and an ad that shows both cars with orange lenses. Which is correct?

Clear lenses for the SS.

Never forget Earnhardt!

Definitely clear lens with amber bulbs. Sometimes those ads mean't (I believe) to depict the parking lights only to be turned on but I've also seen errors in some of those ads. If one of those brochures you have is the young fella standing by the red SS(black stripes) with the left door open, look at the hood of that SS.......shows cowl induction emblems on the hood but I don't see an open flapper or the outline of a closed one.

I have a reprint of the 70 sales brochure, I can see an outline of the flapper door on mine. I assume the car in running, that is why flapper is shut. Also, the parking lights are on, so they appear amber. Clear lens/amber bulb is correct for SS, amber lens/clear bulb for non SS.
