You will need everything, the switch, wiring, motor and cylinders, and a power top frame assembly. Resale value I wouldnt know, I try to hold on to my convertibles!

From a question I posted earlier this month about a 70 Conv manual top ..... Mixed feed back from purists saying leave well enough alone stay manual ... Upsides posted were no leaky cylinders and hoses. Key factor was also added weight , They all felt if you properly lubricate the manual top they are real easy to operate ... To the other answers from people do what makes you happy ... But are there better items to spend money in doing a resto, besides adding options?

Nick:

From a value standpoint there would probably be very little, if any, difference. However, I think a manual top would reduce the actual "number" of potential buyers.

My personal opinion is I would not want a convertible with manual top.

If it's any consolation to you, I once ran out to my '69 Malibu just as it started to pour after a hot summer day and I must've had that top up in 3 seconds flat. If it were power, I would've sat there in the rain pressing the switch as hard as I could while I watched the top come up in it's own time
