Hello,

My name is Chris and I am new to the board. I have recently gotten back a 68 that I sold several years ago. The engine/trans has been removed and in the process (for reasons unknown to me, and I don't want to know) the ac system was cut out, the evap core was destroyed along with the housing, and the entire assembly under the dash that housed the heater core and control door was trashed. What can I do....
1. to replace the under-dash assembly
2. to restore the a/c system.

any help would be appreciated.

I'd post this in the wanted section. some guys remove all that stuff. I'll bet someone there has everything you need.

There usually are a few used evaporator cases and underdash cases on EBAY. Some are cheap $30 to $40 and some are clean and fully restored for $500. I bought a case for $10 this week and I know a team member that bought a complete used system (less brackets ofc) for $130.

that gives me a place to start, thank you guys. also, is there a year range that is compatible with the 68?

Hey Chris, drop me an E-mail when you can. I've been able to collect a few AC parts for the 68, as I'm doing the factory conversion to my 68SS now, and will have some extra parts that are in nice shape. Be glad to help you out if I can.
