To start off with I have no brake lights on my 72 chevelle. Ive got all the other lights on the car working and Im stumped on the brakelights. I put a new switch in at the pedal and it has power there, but still no brake lights?
What else could it be?

Ok at the brake light switch it has power on the one side, I think that wire is orange. When you push the pedal down it should have power on the other side, I think that wire is white. Then that power goes to the signal switch at the base of the steering column. Do you have all your signals and 4 way flashers?

You'll need a wiring diagram to trace the battery lead. You might have a blown fuse or a missing ground. Battery is useless without resistance and a ground. P.S.... I think there are two elements in the tail light assembly, one is for the taillight and the other is for the brake lights.

I got the turn signal switch popped out but it is a pain in the butt to unhook. So Im going to run a jumper wire from the brake switch with a inline fuse in it to the brake lights. And the new turn signal switch is 50 bucks. Im sure alot of you will not like this method but im not a motor/greese monkey that loves working on these cars.
