1967 front speaker installation

So I have now obtained a good radio, fader , front and rear speakers, and a front speaker bracket for my 67.
I have bench tested everything and all works correctly so I went to install the front speaker and hit a snag.
It looks like a previous owner has MAYBE removed a bracket under the dash which was attached to the firewall
with either two screws or maybe two spot welds?? I can see the raw metal between two holes which would have been under a bracket and not
primed like the rest of the under dash area. I'm speculating that this missing bracket is where the speaker bracket would attach. It may also have something to do with the mounting of the defrost ducts as they seem screwed up as well.( mis-aligned and not tight to the dash vents )
Can anyone tell me how the radio bracket attached to the dash and how it fits on the speaker?? ( It looks like the two arms of the loose speaker bracket
sit on either side of the radio magnet and then a single screw or bolt is installed to tighten the bracket and wedge the speaker up against the top of the dash ??? ).
I really hope someone would have a dash out of a car and could take a picture showing how this all is arranged.
If there is a bracket which I am missing , I'd appreciate any ideas on how to mount the front speaker.
When I first started on the radio project a previous owner had wedged two speakers up in the dash with wood shims which I obviously removed.
I'm wondering if he cut the bracket out to accomplish this.
Do you think I could silicone the speaker to the underside of the dash?? Just an idea.
Help!!

I think I may have one from a '66... If I do, I would have cut it off with a plasma cutter though... If that helps you I have no need for it... I can dig it up tomorrow and post a pic of what I have.
