it was a customers car w/a Speed Demon VS 13.1 was safe and made good power.
Richer than that lost power.
Sorta can't wait to get this car to the track, car ran 12flats at the previous jetting w/Goodrich TA's
The afr's will change with the air density and Atco is closer to sea level than Perkasie Pa.
Do you run a chassis dyno?

Vince what were the final flow numbers on the carb?

Mike, the carb should get here this week, I'll post the specs.

Hey Rich how have you been? Anything happening with your fuel system?

Not sure if I'll get out anymore...at least untill I do a couple of more things.

Wanted to post this for kicks, about all my logs mirror this one.

Vince....good job and getting back to the track. I think the Prosystems HP950 will pick you up a little but your 1/8 to 1/4 trap is solid right now. Like Jim was saying...how hard are you shifting it??What rpm are you crossing the stripe??

RPM through the traps comes out to about 5350 at 114. I think there are a couple things going on. JMHO. I think the gear ratios in these trannies are not drag racing favorable unless the motor has a extremely wide power band. 1st gear (with a 3.90 rear) is an effective ratio as running a M21 w/ 5.09 rear. Then you have a reduction in rpm for the 1-2 shift by 34% and 2-3 shift by 33%. My theory on why the car slowed down instead of speeding up is too much loss of mid range (4000 rpm) and not enough pick up on the top end to make it up.

The shifting theory is interesting. I *thought* I was shifting fast. I dont shift like a UPS driver or anything.

Jim, have any idea what gear your in by the time you get to the 1/8 mile? I'm wondering if the 2nd to 3rd gear shift is my killer, as it probably the somewhat slower shift as I'm trying to avoid hitting the internal Tremec "wall".

You have to admit, that AFR graph looks pretty consistent huh :D

Maybe just a good old fashion SR cam is needed and shift this thing around 65-6800 rather than ~5800.

Yea, I am in 3rd gear about 6 seconds into the run. So that is way before the 1/8th mile. (1/8th is approximately 7.5 seconds for me).
Here is a link to a video. Timer counts backwards. I dump the clutch at the 35 second mark and I am in 3rd gear by 29 seconds (6 seconds total) This was NOT one of my better shifting runs either, so if yours look worse than this, there is plenty of room for improvement.

..... my car is slower than it should be. I ran 12.1/115.5 with Eddy heads that had bent valves and the rest had severe leakage. Here, I have much better heads and carb and I'm slower!
definately something amiss there. I run 11.40-11.50 @ 111-112 mph on drag radials and with some seriously butchered crappy heads. the rest of our engine combos are pretty much the same.
Vince and Mike, what rear gear ratios do each of you run?

Yep...3:90's.

Next time I get out, I'll try shifting more agressively. But honestly, I'm shifting as fast or faster as Jim is in his video.

Hey Jim,
Do you let off the gas when you shift?
Yes, at 6200 RPM, my TKO will not go into the next gear consistantly at full throttle. May faceplate it over the winter. That should put me at low 11's

At least I have one thing down right. Once my foot hits the floor, it doesn't come up, not even for a second. Every gear is flat shifted at WOT.
PS - I cheat though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yea cheater, you have an automatic. Full throttle shifts are easy. :D

So Jim, your shift point is 6200 or your backing off to 6200 to make the shift?
