Sorry if I did not specify, but yes it is between the power wire from the batt and the amp main power post. Also it has a ground which I replaced the original ground wire with. It sounds much better with the engine running.

Question, I have no 'fade' adjustability, meaning I cannot put fade front and rear. I try to do this from the deck, and if I try to just run the front speakers, it will not. So what I am saying is I can only put the fade full rear and get all 4 speakers working that way. It is like all 4 speakers are on one channel.

You've only got 2 RCA wires running front to rear. They are the pre-amp outputs for the 2 (left and right) rear channels. Since you don't have any connection for front from the deck to the amp when you fade to the front you will get no output. There are decks that have 4 pre-outs that would work the way you want.

Craig,
Perhaps my terminology does not make sense. What I mean to say is that you should NEVER use the chassis as the RETURN lead of your speaker terminal. This means to make certain that the positive output from the amp goes to the + terminal of the speaker, and the negative output of the amp goes to the - terminal of the speaker.
I've seen where people mistakenly connect these both to the chassis because they have a - sign on them. This will make the system soud like hammered pooh, and they generally will not undrstand why. I include that as one of my rules for stereo installations because some folks just don't know.

thanks so much for the help guys. Dan, I have it how you describe, that would be pretty funny if I did use chassis ground for the negative side of the speaker wire :D

Peter, thanks now I know what you mean. It sounds pretty good as is, I just need to upgrade to better speakers now.

thanks again for the help
