Re: WCCG is now "West Coast Chevelles - Thunder at The Track"

Quick Q - anyone know if they allow passengers at the track in quick cars?

If so, I have a HUGE request to make of some of you. My mother and father are trying to make it. My dad is a disabled vet and although he is tough as nails and wont admit it is having a hard time. Since its fathers day the next day I would do anything I could to get my dad in a quick pass down the track.

If anyone knows and would be willing I would make it worth your while. Cover a bit of gas, whatever. I want to see my fathers face light up. I dont know that they will make it 100% yet given health and time but they are trying and if so I would love to get my pops a ride down the 1320 in a quick car.

If not, no biggie, I will sneak in beers and he'll smile anyway. :D

They allow passengers slower than 12 seconds. 11.99 and faster and you can't if my convo with Jennifer serves me. I'm sure someone will hook you guys up. I'll spread the word for ya Beaux :)

Re: WCCG is now "West Coast Chevelles - Thunder at The Track"

Hey hey Kevin, I just back from Mexico and just now checking all things Chevelles here haha. So as Tony answered you, the event Saturday, June 18th. Entrance is $15/adult (anyone over 12) in the car. And if you wanna race for fun, it's an additional $20/car. As far as the cruise on Saturday morning, Mike Crusco from my Nor-Cal Chevelles Club is organizing it from the Bay Area. Email him at mikec44212@aol.com and ask him about it. I think it's coming up I-5 though. So maybe you can meet them off of 12 but I guess it'd be way longer for ya. Check with him and see!
Hi Sergio, My Wife, and I will be coming with our 70'. Do I Paypal you $30.00 in advance? (not racing) Thank you for putting this together. I was disappointed that Scott had decided not to have it this Year. I know last Year wasn't the greatest. Bad Economy, and bad Weather.

Re: WCCG is now "West Coast Chevelles - Thunder at The Track"

Last year i did 5 runs, then switched my passenger and did 5 more runs. it wont be like that this year but I'll go down the track with anyone that wants to come with me. Beaux, I just lost my dad in January and he never got to get out on the track with me... I'd be honored to take your dad down the track.

You could always fib and say you dont know how fast the car is and let him ride in a fast car, and just let him out in the pits.

Re: WCCG is now "West Coast Chevelles - Thunder at The Track"

Ok crazy guys, do I need to make a "Fastest Baby Hauler" trophy after all haha? I'm making some trophies next week, so give me serious opinions. I didn't think there would be enough cars with baby seats in em haha. But if you guys want it, I'll do it. It's only $25 for a trophy :)
You could make some of them perpetual... where they have to bring them back, or you can award them a certificate to keep, and put the names of the yearly winners on a plaque and or trophy and you/someone bring it every year for the rest to enjoy. just a thought

Hey Jon, thanks for deciding to come out!!! It sounds like you missed the posts on here where I was able to get the BBQ paid for by Crebassa's Auto Body in San Rafael. So no $$$ needed to pay me with anymore!!! Wooohooo!

Just bring plenty of cash for tons of raffle tickets for the NUMEROUS AWESOME PRIZES I've lined up for everyone haha!!!!!!!!! :hurray:

Oh, I guess you'll still need to bring your $30 to give to track for your car entrance. The money goes to the track, not me. We're NOT paying to use the track for the WCCG, so I didn't ask for any monies from entrances. I figured it was a win-win for us AND the track

It might be like that at first Brian! Not to mention all the practice runs you can make for the "dial in" from 1p-2p. You might be able to just keep making run after run depending on many other guys run.

As the elimination rounds go on and on for the bracket guys, we will have to lessen the amount of our cars running for fun to keep up with the lower amount of their cars.

Sweet deal. I just got a few more boxes of stuff from NPD and Summit. Gonna open them tonight and see what we got.

It was nice to do a few burnouts this past weekend haha. Haven't driven my Chevelle in 2 weeks. Always a smile now after fine tuning the timing/carb!

I'm working on getting a Muncie Super Case from Jody over in the trans dept and gonna try and swap my numbers matching case for it before the WCCG so I can race!!! Not holding my breathe though . I'd really like to see if I can get in the 12s this time around :D

Thanks guys!

That would be way cool if it works out. If not, dad will still have one heck of a good time if he can make it out there with us.

Really looking forward to seeing all you guys and gals again. :beers:

Re: WCCG is now "West Coast Chevelles - Thunder at The Track"

Hey guys, I just got to read the thread, and finally saw the flyer and date. Dang man why you guys gotta make me work like that. This reading $hit is hard work...lol

I've been off the board for awhile, and finally just fired the Velle on Memorial day! It's been down for three years and two months. Had to go through one Hell of a nasty divorce!

I posted this in classifieds, but does anyone have a 4" Harwood for a 70-72? I aint got no hood!

I'll be coming either way.

John

Hi John, thanks for coming out!! Sorry about our HUGE thread going at this point. If we would've started it sooner, we'd be up there with the East Coast Chevellabration thread count .

Here's another shot of the flyer!

And the graphic I will have up in case 24 people decide to order a tshirt.

I really dont think you need a award for the baby hauler.
Ok Vic, if you're sure. I'll just add the longest hauler trophy to the 2 track trophies

Re: WCCG is now "West Coast Chevelles - Thunder at The Track"

Hey everyone. Here's a copy of the cruise for the WCCG from some guys in my Chevelle Club. I just cut and pasted this from an email from Mike Crusco who has been awesome enough to get this thing squared away for me. I know some of you are coming from the I-80 corridor so it doesn't make a ton of sense heading up 99, but if you decide to, here are some details :)

"Here are the travel details. We will meet at the Starbucks in
Pleasanton at the corner of Bernal and Valley,
across from the Alameda County Fairgrounds (the
old Rings location) at 9:30am. We will leave at
10:00am SHARP! And cruise to Highway 99 and Yosemite
Avenue in Manteca where we will meet the San
Joaquin Valley folks and any other members/friends
that want to cruise up, at the In-N-Out Burger at 10:30am.
We will leave Manteca at 11:00am SHARP and should arrive
at the Sacramento Raceway at about noon. Looks like this
event is gearing up to be a big success, so come join us
for a great day of fun, BBQ, Show and Shine, new friends
and racing all day."

Any questions, drop me a line. T minus 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: WCCG is now "West Coast Chevelles - Thunder at The Track"

Sergio, we better get everyone doing a "sun dance" to try and get the jet stream to go north. Long range forecast said this crap would be around thru midmonth. I'm ready for heat! Looking forward to seeing everybody.
