My Chevelle has the ZL3 code. I have researched info on the code and read the responses to them. My question is, if the build sheet says ZL3, what options were "converted" or finally came with the car to make the car an SS. (console, bucket seats, stripes, cowl induction hood, etc.)? My car does not have Z25, A51, D55, D88, G80, J50, JL2. My car does have F41, B22, and L34. Thanks for the help.

From what I understand, in 1970, standard SS equipment included power disc brakes, an SS non-cowl domed hood, SS dash, SS badging, 350 hp 396, special suspension, SS wheels, wheel opening mouldings, white letter tires, rear bumper pad (Chevelle), & black grill with accents. So, I would think that J50 & JL2 should be listed on your buildsheet. ZL2 cowl hood, D88 hood & deck stripes, G80 positraction axle, A51 bucket seats, D55 console, were all extra cost options even on an SS.
