Team,
I have a fairly tame 350 with an XE262 Comp Extreme Energy cam. I have the matching lifters and springs......... I have a set of stock 96 Tahoe vortec heads. The rockers and pushrods are all stock. I had the heads machined for extra lift before I put the heads on. Several months later I read about the "bad things pressed in studs can do". Well I have pressed in studs. The only thing I ever noticed was setting valve lash on one valve seemed odd because the wrench seemed to be turning harder than the rest. I coughed it up to a bad thread or something. Car has been running fine for years. I'm about to change the intake and the carb. Is it worth pulling the heads and having a shop put in some screw in studs? If so, can anyone tell me the best budget parts would be? I doubt I'll ever see 400HP......... max RPM of 5,600ish. Stick with stock rockers and pushrods? Let me hear your opinions.
