I'm no longer in the wanna be, heads up, career tnt category!!!! :D

Drove up to my folks for the weekend and decided to drag the Camaro along and enter Pro (no electronic class) and Sportsman(trophy for slicks class) at my old hometown track. I went 4 rounds in Sportsman before turning on the red. I then went 6 rounds in Pro getting into the finals. Ended up taking out the #3 points leader in the semi's. Then went on to take out the #1 in points in the final!!! Some of it was certainly luck........I'd rather be lucky than good though!!!

I've got to say the most rewarding thing for me was figuring out how to get my 9" radial slicks to bite on a very marginal surface. I blew the tires off in time trials several times before figuring it out. Ended up adding 100 lbs to the trunk, took out 1.25 turns of rebound in the rear shocks and dropping the pressure all the way down to 18 lbs. After that it dead hooked 9 straight passes.

Weighed the car at the track last night and it weighed right at 3600 lbs with driver/ballast. My quickest ET was 6.31 (off the gas) DA was 1900' (67.4*, 75.8%, 30.06, and 1000 ft track) elevation.

They were not great by any means. Luck was on my side!!!

The car BTW was VERY consistant in both 60 ft and 1/8th mile ET. I only ran the car out on 1 pass and that was my bye run. Otherwise I was just trying to put a nose on the other car then bop the throttle. In the final round I cut a horrible light and knew I wasn't going to catch the other car so I pushed him right up to the stripe then dumped. It worked!!! He broke out and I won the race and took home the winners check! :D

Great job Garret. Feels good doesn't it?
Trust me, take those round victiries any way you can.
I've had nights when I was on the tree, and you still lose.
Did ya get some cash?
