Ghostery shows "Twitter Button" as one of 9 trackers on this page...

If you install Ghostery, you can block all trackers, which speeds up page loading. Running Firefox with Adblock + can eliminate seeing all ads from the site too.

Just one more "improvement" to Team Chevelle. When I hit the button for browsing history, I now get a twitter address in the mix and I have never had anything to do with twitter. So now it will take two hits of the back button to back up. That is really progress. Whose bright idea was that?

Probably who ever is in charge of making money... I'd guess there was a financial incentive to do so...


But thanks for bringing it to our attention... I have had alot of "quirks" lately, and I was thinking it was hardware-related...

I don't Twitter either, so its a waste of my time...

But I did notice I have to hit the "back" button twice... Nice :sad:

Derek, I'll check out that adblock. I'm using Ghostery at home and this site has more 'invasives' than the local news website. It's polluted with them!

Seems someone is playing a game of 'lets see how fast we can discourage the membership'. You're winning is all I can say.

I am spending very little time on the site anymore. Like someone said, it is real slow and now this "hit back button again" thing is nuts.Try this other Chevelle site. Some of the guys from here are already there. Very relaxed, friendly site. It reminds me of this place a whole bunch of years back.

That's weird, I've never had those problems on any of my computers and also I never see any ads.
I do get "database error" every once in a while tho.

i used to feel kinda guilty for not spending the money to get a flag next to my name.. but that all changed the day that Al posted up that he sold the site to a big faceless internet company..
frankly, i'm surprised anyone has a flag next to their name any more.

photobucket has become the same way.
When a site becomes a nuisance Im done with it.
Ill click on/off when I want.

I run adblock with Firefox which helps otherwise pages take too long to load or it crashes firefox. Irritating.

There is such a thing as overkill with ads vs keeping the masses happy.

I've gone to opening each post in a new window (when I remember), then I can just close that screen instead of going back. Saves some irritation and helps to keep from slow page reloads.

When back button doesn't click back to the last page I was on, I right click back button and choose place I want to go from drop down. Goofy behavior on other forums too. Internet Explorer, Windows 7, Earthlink.
