Ok, I have a new stock HEI in my mild 350. No extra parts like 6AL or anything like that. My Chiltons shows that when the HEI's came in starting with 1975 the plug was the 44TX (I think) and the gap is .60. I have been reading around here and what I hear is that .45 is best, you can run .35 OK (which is where I am at right now without any problems) but .60 is only for those systems with high end pieces as it takes a lot of extra juice to spark across that gap. I also saw here there is a plug that is shorter for all of those with headers, is there a heat dissipating issue with these and would you use them? Would I choose a plug of this nature and just add an X to the end for the wide gap? Would I choose a plug with X in the name even if I only go to say a .45 gap? I have always run the standard Champion or AC R44T so would like another opinion.
Thanks!
