Hello

Getting ready to install the radiator in my 68 and need a fan shroud. Car has a 73 454 with what I believe is the long style water pump. Was told the 68 shroud may not work. Would I get the 69-70 shroud? Been looking on the ground up website and it looks like there is a difference between the two and wondering if that the right shroud to get?

69 & 70 shrouds are the same and do not cover all of the radiator.
You might investigate getting a 71 shroud to fit.

How about use the 68 shroud and then use an aftermarket fan with no spacer or whatever size spacer to position fan properly? I think I read half the fan should be inside the shroud and half out, that sound right? Think that would work?

do you have a 68 small block shroud or from a BB
if SB then it can work but you will need to notch room for the altenator pulley/belt and the crank pulley area, the fan will be aways inside the shroud but will work fair...

i think the 71-72 shrouds cover the whole rad-core unlike the 69-70 style i was using...

Right now I don't have any shroud. I have the 68 bb shroud on order from GU but realized after placing the order that I have the long water pump.
