Anyone have any idea which company sells what brand patch panel.

I got pictures of the same patch panel (DR side quarter panel behind the wheel)...

http://www.ss396.com/mm5/merchant.m...tore_Code=chevellecamino&Product_Code=RQR-70L&Category_Code=QUARTERPANELPATCHES

One is sold by NPD which is the cheapest, and looks the best from the picture on their website... Hard to say from the SS396 and OPGI picture. I can't get the goodmark site to load at the moment, so no luck on price or picture... Anyone use these patches in the past? Any idea what's what? Goodmark, Dii, random? Trying to decide which one to buy for my 72.

Thanks in advance!

Well, maybe there is no right answer on this... I'm going to go by process of elimination on this one :p

Today I received a new rear valance panel for my 72, which I bought from Ground Up (don't know who makes their stuff?). Upon taking it out of the package I was very happy with the quality. However once I got it on the car, I was not very pleased. Fits fair on one side (just fair, not good, not great, just fair), but on the other side of the car there is about a 5/16 gap at the top of the flange where the valance bolts to the body. I understand that all aftermarket sheet metal will most likely have to be modified in SOME way, but I think that gap is a little excessive.

I don't think I will buy another panel from GU (depending on where they get their stuff, and how bad the rest of the stuff that comes in is)... Hopefully its not Dynacorn stuff because...

I ordered a Dynacorn SS hood that should be here sometime next week... I'll review that next.

There are only a couple of companies that make all of the panels for all the vendors to sell. It's either golden legion sheet metal (Goodmark sells it) or dynacorn. All the panels seem to need a lot of work.

Not to hi jack the thread.

If this is the case. Is either castin the USA?

What about this claim about AMD cast in America?

I got the Dynacorn SS hood yesterday, it arrived undamaged... I've bought a few after market items in my day, (couple fenders, 68 SS hood), and they have all not fit "perfect", usually requiring a little work... I was amazed with the fit of this hood, even gap almost everywhere, very little shimming and/or tapping required. Maybe I finally got lucky and got a good one?

I bought an SS hood for my 68 earlier this year and it completely sucked. Gaps were undoable, it was 1/8 too short on the passenger side, the front lip wasn't fully bent. I returned it and they replaced it with the same part number, same manufacturer, and it fit like a glove. Sometimes you get lucky after all.

I used a Dynacorn quarter patch on the car that fit really well. Did lower fenders on my 71 from Dii, and I had three days fitting them. Terrible.
