I am looking to buy a 355 short block. Any tips on brands or places to shop sides the usual summit or jegs. Thanks

Talk to a local machine shop. There are no freight charges. Local is better if something were to happen to the engine, too.

I considered that but I have a new set of heads, cam, rockers, springs and manifold I would like to use.

I meant a ZZ4 shortblock Dave, ....

you can buy an assembled 383 shortblock for that much on ebay with a few better parts in it. better comp ratio too .
