Found this site in 1997. Seems like a lifetime ago. I was working for Delta at the DFW hangar at the time. Started getting back into the classic car hobby after a long hiatus.
Found my 71 Chevelle in 98. (Sold it over a year ago)
Since joining TC we've been through....
The 2000 presidential election that took forever to decide who had won.
The Sept 11th attacks.
Became a grandparent in 2002, two grandchildren born two weeks apart.
Another space shuttle was lost in 2003 prior to the start of the Iraq war.
Watched the beginning of the war in Iraq in 2003.
Became a grandparent again in 2004 (He was the one who passed away in 2007)
Later in 04 we witnessed another close election.
Had to leave my job at Delta when they closed the DFW hangar. (Big life changing event)
2005 and 2006...bounce around between various jobs.
Early 2007, our grandson passes away. The battle with CPS begins as they try to take his sister away from us and put her in foster care.
Spring 2007....faced with decision to choose between two roads in life, I choose to accept Christ as my Savior.
Remainder of 2007.... we pick up the pieces and go on with life.
August 2008....Baptized at First Baptist Church in Grapevine Texas.
March of 2009...Present the idea of the Musclecar Ministry to our Men's Ministry director and begin a working man's ministry. Also teach my first Bible class, filling in for our regular teacher who was out of town.
Tomorrow, filling in for our Bible study teacher again for the fourth time, teaching a lesson on chapter 2 of the book of James.
Indeed, a lot of water has gone under the bridge. When I found out that Al and Dot had sold TC, I just naturally started thinking of everything that life has thrown at us in the past 12 years, some car related, some not.
