Mine`s been off the road 4months due to snow and paint job. Hated every second, and it`s time for a new round soon, as snow is around the corner. Hoping for a black christmas this year ;-)

I learned my lesson years ago when I was very young and stupid. My 67 died on me so I figured I would just park it untill I had time to fix it back up. I had to leave it sit outside and one thing lead to another to where it sat way to long and rusted up real bad to the point where I sold it. Since that day all the other 67s I have had any little thing goes wrong its fixed NOW and back on the road. I dont go through them like I use to I have had this one around 18 years now and dont have any plans on ever selling it. This car seems like its actually a part of me.

Ya know, the story on my '69 was sort of like this, except the ending was much worse. I guess the car sat from the end of 2003 until it was stolen in 2007. It would get started once or twice a year during that time, though. Don't know if I'll get another chance to care for another one. :(

I have a few that have not even been started in several years much less driven .Due to this my 55 Bel Air had to have the carb rebuilt ,so it will now be driven until it sells or is traded .I have 2 more to get running soon and will decide their fate at that time .Seems to me that since they just sit here in my shop taking up space and not being driven that I must not need them. I have finally realized you can have too many toys to play with.

My 64 sat for 7 long years in various states of disassembly. I dropped a valve when my younger son was 3 months old, brought it home and tore the heads off. Fixed the valve, no damage to the lower end, then found a deal I couldn't pass up on some rect port heads. Sold oval heads and intake, bought rect port heads "ready to run," turns out 10 valves were bent and no hard seats. Took the front sheetmetal off to patch the heater hole properly and ran out of time and money. Had a daughter and a divorce shortly after, had time but no money. Got married again and wife found the money to get it going again. Sat from July 1999 til August 06.

We all have different approaches as for having a muscle car. For me it´s all about driving it. I like modifying it and take it for a spin as fast as possible. I drive it to work and visit my friends with it.
If it breaks down, I`m willing to put myself in debth just to get it running again as fast as possible. When it´s not running I feel miserable.
The 3500 I used on getting it back on the road in three weeks after a 12bolt breakdown is a good example.
6 days investigating what´s the best rearend out there for me, deciding between company, 9" vs 12bolt, where to find the best deal, and then 10 days for shipping and the rest getting it in there.

It does break down a lot, I should have bought a better car because now I can´t part with it. It´s a part of me now.. haha sounds pathetic I know LOL

My '66 SS hasn't been driven since October 1985!

Broke a ring and started using a quart of oil every 10+ miles, so I parked it, tore it apart figuring I'd do a "restoration" over the winter...

Life got in the way... Fixed up my other Chevelle to drive, then sold it and bought my '66 convert... Moved a few times, restored a '66 El Camino (factory 396 car), eventually started working on my convertible, went to college, eventually moved a few more times, got married, had two kids, bought a house... Sold the convertible and bought the '70, been working on that...

Saving up money and pieces for the '66...

I swear, I am going to start on it this next Spring/Summer, as soon as I iron out a few issues with the '70... But really, it may be a few more years...

Bought our one Chevelle new in '69 and put it away in the fall of 1977. Should be out again in the next couple of years but I'm not holding my breath. I'm like Tony. Other things got in the way like building a house, work and raising kids. Bodyshops have been my nemesis with this car. I am beginning to think that fate isn't allowing me to finish this project.
