I went to a car show:hurray: today and had to drive about an hour and half. My car got up to 220 on the highway and putting around about 205 in city traffic. It was a very hot day here and temp was aroung 97 degrees. Is this too high of a temp
. I never boiled over. Is is true that with power comes heat in a motor??
Here is my set up: :thumbsup:71 Chevelle. 400 turbo, 12 posi 4:11 gears. 496 with cast iron heads 10:2:1 compression, solid roller cam 660 lift making about 600 hp. 2 core 1 inch tube alum rad, with 2 14 inch fans.
The motor is acting like its building heat at the higher RPM on the highway and cools down when get off highway. I thought it would be the opposite of this?
What should you expect a temp for a motor around 600 hp with my set up? Is this OK or should I continue to look for a way to cool better? Thanks JP
