Yea I know the rear has got to be swapped out eventually...At first this motor was going in my camaro and now since we had the 383 out of the chevelle we decided to slide this motor in as its been on a stand and not ran since 2004...I had a 12 bolt I was going to build for the car but I donated it to my uncle that has a 66 chevelle since he is painting my camaro for me.

 

You realize your compression could be in the 14:1 range? I wouldn't think the stock 8.2 would mind a 3000 converter when you are footbrake launching, your combo won't make peak torque until the 4500+ range.

 

We've ran this motor before and I know this sounds crazy but its 12.5:1 and will run on pump gas with some additive and thats with the timing backed down...

 

Your math doesn't add up here.

12 cc dome
3.75 stroke
64 cc head
4.155 bore
.041" head gasket

zero deck 14.6x:1
.060" negative deck (.101" total piston to head clearance) 12.19:1

Are you saying your pistons are around .050" below the deck?

What does work out at 12.5:1 is the 70 cc chambers, an undecked block, and 12 cc domes. (Vic Jr's come both ways)

 

Whats the duration @.050

 

The block is not decked at all if that helps...I'll get the cam card when I get home and post up the duration at .050

 

Any other ideas...Ordered new headers they are going to be
Hedman Race Hedders
1 3/4 step to 1 7/8 with 3.5 collector.

 

They are the 70 cc heads too.
