I just thought I'd throw this into the mix... my GF is interning at the AQMD. According to her, it's a strange mix of rather harmless (other than the global warming they cause with their CO2 breath emissions), non-producing government bureaucrats and extreme environmental fascists. The funny thing is that these whack jobs who pass laws dictating how we live, what we drive, and what we can/cannot do with our property are very hypocritical in how they live... parking is difficult, because the over-abundance of gas guzzling, smog belching SUVs protrude from the compact spaces, blocking the adjacent ones. I would figure that anyone so fanatical about the environment that they are willing to intrude into the lives of others and exert extraterrial powers over proerty rights, would live close to their worksite, so they could walk or bike. I'd like to know why the lot isn't full of dual energy and electric vehicles; moreover these vehicles should lack power everything, radios, sound deadener, back seats etc... afterall, they add weight and increase the load on the vehicles, causing pollution and wasting fuel. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against saving trees by eating beavers, or wiping your arse with an owl...
