My car has the washer monitoring option. The washer reservoir bottle is cracked and has a hole in it. I bought a new bottle and will cut a hole to mount the sensor in the new bottle. Problem is I don't know how to remove the sensor assembly from the old bottle. Anyone else ever done this?

If the bottle holding the Float Assembly is cracked, why not just cut it open with an Xacto knife till the float assembly eases out.You are going to throw the old bottle out anyway, right?
If not use a hair dryer to soften the old bottle up,then pull and twist float assembly till it comes out. They can be difficult.

Rick,

Thanks for the reply. The collar does not want to come out. So, I did cut the old bottle to examine. However, I was trying to salvage the hole to determine the size to cut for the new one. The float assembly seems to be in two pieces with the lower part clipping on to the upper. I was just wondering if anyone knew any tricks before I really tear this thing up. I guess I'm about to find out.
