I offered 20k for a 71 Chevelle today. He turned it down. Just curious if you guys think I made a fair offer or if I low balled him. Even if I wanted to offer more, I could only go a few hundred higher. I thought it was a fair offer though...
It's a 71 Chevelle with SS trim, not sure if it's a real SS. It's a street/strip hotrod type car. Very nice older paint job. Nice driver interior. Seems to be very solid and original panels. Underside isn't show clean, but nice with no rust. I would rate the car as a very nice driver. I really liked it. Here's the good stuff(listed in ad)...
Engine;
GMPP ZZ502/502hp
GMPP alum roller rocker arms
MSD 6AL ingnition, distributer, wires
FLUIDAMPER harmonic damper
EDELBROCK victor series alum. water pump
HOLLEY 850 mech. secondaries, 50cc pumps,
oversized squirters,choke horn removed, flows 950 +
Exhaust;
HOOKER super comp headers (ceramic)
TORQUE TECH 3" cnc mandel bent exhaust,
balance tube, vortex mufflers, stainless tips
Transmission;
ROSSLER turbo 400 street-strip,
TCI converter (3600)
B-M Mega shifter
Driveshaft;
custom with 1350 series yokes,
Rear-end;
12-bolt, welded tubes, 411 richmond gears
Suspention Front;
MOROSO drag springs
KONI adjustable shocks
Suspention Rear;
HOTCHKIS adjustable trailing arms, braces,
progressive rate springs and airbags
Car runs consistent 11.8's which is plenty fast for me! He showed pics of the front tires off the ground(driver side mostly) and time slips. Car won some awards at shows in the past.
Little things that I would like to replace that add up...
rechrome bumpers
New parking light bezels
needs quarter glass seals
radiator/fan shroud
rear tires
Some other little detail things.
His ad is listed at 23,500. I really liked the car, but honestly think more than 20k is on the high side. Here's a few pics. Would like to here your opinions.
