Sorry if this gets long, I am in the process of replacing the weatherstrip that the vent window goes into. I have disassmbled the frames, had the piller
rechromed and now to install the new weatherstrip.. of course its not as simple as I thought.... It appears I have to drill out a rivit or two to totally disassemble the lower portion of the the frame so the weatherstrip can slide into the track.. I guess I am asking if anyone has replaced these weatherstrips before ? and if so I am on the right track ? and where do I find those fasteners (rivits) that sit so flat they dont interfere with the window operation !!!!!
Thanks in advance for your help :)

Yes it is my 67, the frame does separate in 2 pieces by screws but on the bottom of the vent frame the weatherstrip slides into a groove. the weatherstrip has a stop so it will only go on 1 way and for that to happen these rivits must be drilled If i knew how to post a picture here i would. I picture is worth a thousand words....does the fisher body manual show how to replace these parts ??? anyone anyone ??

I know what you are talking about, just finished rebuilding the wing windows on my 66.
When you drill out the rivets (the only way the bottom comes off ) and after you install your new weatherstrip, slide the bottom all the way up with the glass inplace and use 1/8 rivets.

Install with head flat under the channel strip, they are small enough to keep your strip flat on the inside.

Thanks Bob,,,, thats what I ended up doing last night found no way but to drill them out I even tried to use the old style rivits I found at the englishtown swap meet this past weekend.
Yes I said, tried the old way,,,,, scraped that real fast I have no clue how they did that back then,, went right to the pop rivits worked like a charm,,,now if I could only remember how the springs and washers went back on for the vent window adjustment I would be fine !!!!!!!!

Thanks :)

There should 4 washers and the lock washer, two above the brace and two above the spring.

The washer with the flat side goes nearest the glass, the other above the spring. Then the spring with the bendable flat for a lock on the nut.
