Does anyone know if a 700R4 transmission from a 2.8 V6 1991 Camaro are the same transmissions that will bolt to a V8? Will this tranny have the BOP bellhousing? Or will it have the dual (BOP & Chevy) bellhousing pattern? Are the internals the same in a V6 tranny and a V8 tranny??

The 700r4 should bolt right up to a chevy's with V8. The BOP typically uses the 2004r which also bolts right up to the chevy's. The 700r4 can be considered the chevrolet version of the overdrive transmission because it came stock in chevrolet vehicles, while the 2004r came stock in the BOP production cars. The answer to your question is yes, the 700r4 will bolt up to your car.

I stand correct the 700r4 transmission may have a different angle set-up of a V6. Sorry about the misinformation. Wally, a TC, seem to be a great person to ask about transmissions.

Thanks! Jakeshoe answered my same question on the Camaro site.
