Hey Mark,

Tracey's trying to scare up a trailer. I found him a real nice 20' Haulmark (Rich's) for just under $4k. It's a bargain but he's got no place to keep it.

Thats a great idea Dave, heck Tracey can keep the trailer at my house, I have plenty of room out in the country.:D

Might be a little bit of a drive between Long Island and New Jersey, or Long Island and Ohio but what the heck....

Tracey - send me some of those parts, I finally found the heat riser tube at a decent price on e-bay but the guy is saying he lost the part and wants to give my $ back.

Re: Trying to track down additional 1972 SS 454 Real "W" Convertibles

OK GuyS, I found a lead on another one. It was owned by a collecter in Atlanta? GA. Last seen in 1988. It was Beige with black stripes, CI hood, black top and interior. 4sp car?. It was owned by MILTON ROBESON (sp?). It was numbers matching and Milton's intention was to restore it.

ANYONE KNOW THIS CAR OR MILTON ROBESON FROM GA?

CUMON' GUYS, SOMEONE HAS TO KNOW MILTON!

FYI - I have it on good authority that Chevelle World with the CB09 entry form is in the mail! Get them in early as there are only 20 spaces for W/U cars! Remember to put your VIN on the application!

It's Milton Robson. He's got a bunch of cars. I'll try to find out more info for you.

Re: Trying to track down additional 1972 SS 454 Real "W" Convertibles

I spoke with Milton this morning. His car was a Yellow 454 4spd car black top and interior with all the paperwork. Milton only buys nice cars. He sold it to Michael Murphy in Fla. in the late eighties. I think this is the car in the books and several mags in the early ninties. Milton didn't know where it went from there. Jim

One of my customers has an all original low mile Mulsane Blue 454 4spd conv white top and stripes, cowl, tach, #'s matching numbers. Its slated to come to me to get freshened this year . Its all original with one repaint in the early eighties rust free untouched other than exterior repaint. Jim

Re: Trying to track down additional 1972 SS 454 Real "W" Convertibles

Thanks Jim, I think we traced Milton's car to Dirk in Canada.

As for the mulsane blue one, this would be an addition to the list #23:hurray:. Could get the guy's name and state. If it is confidential, could we get his first name and state?

Re: Trying to track down additional 1972 SS 454 Real "W" Convertibles

Also Jim,

It would be great if you could talk your client into bringing his car to CB09 BEFORE he restores it! I would even offer to pay his entry fee for the opportunity to see and unrestored car!

Re: Trying to track down additional 1972 SS 454 Real "W" Convertibles

That is correct that Milton's car is now owned by Dirk in Canada.

I extended this offer to Len (owner of a 42k mile W survivor) of Potsville PA and I am extendeding to all other W owners. If things are tight$, bring your W. You have a free bed and you can drink my beer. All you have to do is pay for gas and bring McDonalds money! :beers:
This offer is good for all W owners in a pinch$! Only one offer available so grab it while you can.

Tempting offer but health issues not financial, are keeping me & the W home this year.:(

Don't worry Chad - He has a secret compartment in his Chevelle - I know because we had to fix it at the show last year.l:)- There is an endless supply or Corona's from this guy...

Mark! That was supposed to be a secret. Because of the placement of the 454 in the 1972 Chevelle, only W cars had the secret "Corona" compartment.

Damn, can't tell you anything! :noway:

Re: Trying to track down additional 1972 SS 454 Real "W" Convertibles

I could have bought Mike Metivers white w/black stripe 72 SS back when he sold it. I had a red 70 SS 454 clone, and when Mike told me he was selling the car I wanted it. I needed to get rid of mine first, and couldn't do so by the time Mike sold his :-(. He was going to give it to me for a much cheaper price than he ended up getting. I thought he had sold it to someone from NH, but after reading this post, I see the gentleman was from Leomister. I do remember him saying that he wanted another one to replace the one he had sold.

Mike used to work at an AMC dealership, and the original owners came from capecod to trade that car in. Mike saw it, and grabbed it up. He also to my knowledge used to own a 1970 GS stage one convertible. I'm not sure if he restored that or sold it, but to my knowledge, those are super rare also. I haven't seen Mike in over 20 years. ..........Tom

Another thing, that I heard (not sure of how true this is) is that Al Thurbers 72 was in an accident this past summer. I've seen this car, and he did an excellent job on the restoration of it

Thanks for the info. Thats to bad about Al's car - that is a very nice Chevelle - I parked next to him at the Niagara Falls Show a few years back. We never added his car to the list because there was enough evidence to tell us it was not a true factory W convertible.

He is #18on our list. Bob Jacobson. He's looking to get $90k or better. We wish him luck.

A REGISTRATION UPDATE:

We have 3 W's registered so far:

Al Thurber
Mark Meldrum
Stan Kryla

I know that Al's car is not on our W listing yet but I'm sure we can validate it as a W at the show and add it.

OK, who's next for our list! Comon' guys! GET THOSE REGISTRATIONS IN! :beers:
