I'm restoring a 1965 Chevelle and I'm having trouble lining up the trunk lid to the body. I have a large gap on the drivers side rear corner and a small gap on the passenger. I was told I needed to tweak the hinges a little bit, but that didn't work. Upon inspection I noticed that the part that the hinge connects to looks higher on the drivers side than the one on the passenger side. I've tried to bend this part, but there isn't much room to get any tools in there and right above that part is the panel that goes from the rear windshield to the trunk. Any prying against that will mess that panel up. Is there a way to fix this problem without having to take the tension bars and hinges out?
