I got my 66 back from the body shop and noticed that I have a problem with the trunk. A bunch of work was done including changing the roof structure, roof skin and one rear quarter. Now the trunk appears to be high in the front and the trunk seal leaks. At first I had the seal in wrong but was able to correct it with info from a tread on TC and it still leaks. I also had a problem with the hood high on one side in the back and was able to correct it from info here on TC. Has anyone had experience with correcting the trunck issue by bending the hinge or using shimming between the hinge and lid? The bodyman got himself in a jam and is not available to help me. Most everything turned out good but this is one of a few issues I need to get resolved. TC has been great for me as I have been doing the frame off on the 66.
Thanks

Had the same problem on my 66, the body shop did not tighten the bolts on the hinges, tighten the bolts and it evened right out. I hate those hard fixes !!!!

Verle,
I did as you suggested and it looks and fits better. I still could see light on the sides and was able to bend the side channels that the weatherstriping fits into up enough to get a tight fit all the way around. Hopefully no more water in the trunk when I wash the car. Thanks for your help.

The supports that bolt to the lid are fairly easy to bend. I use pieces of 2x4 placed under or over the support, depending on which way up or down I need to go. With the wood in place you push up or pull down on the lid. My lids are adjusted dead on to the opening without resorting to shims. Keep in mind that some brands of weatherstrip are very firm and can push up on an otherwise perfectly adjusted lid.
