I HAVE A 1970 CHEVELLE CONV.SS396, ORIGINAL ENGINE 350HP.AND TURBO400 TRANS IS NOT ORIGINAL. HAVING A HARD TIME FINDING CORRECT TRANS, SHOULD I SWAP OVER TO A 4-SPD. IT WILL NOT BE AN EVERYDAY DRIVER.

It's your car.....have fun with it. Don't let ANYONE tell you what to do with it. I bought my 71 new in Aug of 1971 and probably made the first modifications to it a month later.......looking back I would not do anything differently ! I say go for it ... if you are really concerned about it just keep all the original stuff.
