I am trying to figure out the best initial & total timing for my combo (see my sig) I have had it from 13* to 20* initial & it seems nore responsive @ 20 but the total is now @ 40*. It doesnt ping so is it OK or do I need to recurve the distributor? I've been told that 16-18 should be good but then others say "as much as the starter can take" Vacuum is rock solid @ 16 @ 20* What do you guys think

I run 18*/38* or 20*/40 *on my 10.5 to 1 454 with no issues.
Mine seems to 60 ft. a hair better with it at 20* base/40* total
