I have a tilt column from a 73 el camino with a floor shift that I want to use in my 72 Chevelle with an automatic and console. I noticed that that the shift levers are different though. My original non tilt has a curved shape, while the 73 tilt's lever is straight. Will this column install without modifications?

Thank you,
Mike

Dan,
Sorry if my explaination is unclear, I will try again. I am comparing two FLOOR shift steering columns. One is a TILT column from 1973 and one is a NON-TILT column from my 1972. At the very bottom of the column, which is past the lower mounting plate, there is a lever that connects to the shift linkage in an automatic. The one fron 73 is straight and the one from my 72 has a "hook" or bend to it. I want to know if I will have a problem with this difference, before I have the tilt column rebuilt? I hope it clears things up.

Thanks!
Mike
