Hello!
I rebuilded my 67´396BB last winter, with all new parts including comp cams high energy 268H with high energy lifters. Its a driver engine, only little modified.
Break in went well, but i had a slight ticking. Oil is 0w30 synth after break in, also tried 15w40 to minimize ticking, no success. I set the lash 1/2 turn after zero lash with the stock rocker arms. Comp cams say to set lash to 1 full turn, so i tried this to minimize the ticking. It was better, but still there, and nr 4 intake and nr7 intake rocker arm has slight wear marks at the tips.
So i ordered a set of harland sharp full rollers with new pushrods and installed them.
While setting the lash with the new rocker arms i noticed that i can push the plunger of two lifters.
Normally you can not push in the plunger of the lifter in when its full of oil, is that right? I i can push the nr. 4 and 7 intake lifter plunger with a little force into the lifter.
the lifters are 4 moth old, do they have a problem- maybe dirt in the little valve in the lifter? and how can i solve this problem?
I dont want to remove the manifold, because the engine is completely painted.
Can i clean the plunger with solvent or compressed air?

Thank you very much!
Tobi
