Current combo is 10.5-1 .030 over 454,cast crank hyper piston bottom end,320 cc aluminum head,255-.607 108 solid flat tappet cam, single plane intake,950 carb, turbo 350-4500 flash converter,4.11 gear 67 chevelle. I'm going the solid roller 496 route. I have run a 7.05@98 with a 1.56 60ft with the old combo.I,m wanting to pick it up a good bit.Not a whole lot of street driving, mostly tnt on 1/8 mile track.I have a forged 4.25 crank and some 6.385 scat rods. Now it's time for a piston purchase.I have heard that the heads i have like compression but i see articles that claim to make unreal horsepower with 9-1 compression.I'd just like some real world advice about what real world people prefer on the compression.I don't want to change my converter or gear.9-1,10-1,13-1? Don't take into account the fuel issue because it doesn't matter to me about the cost of fuel because i'm not gonna drive on street a whole lot. Thanks alot for any input.
