Interesting combo with the long rod .....does it make for a lighter piston?? Should make 600hp not sure about torque with long rod and single plane intake

The short block was bought from engine builder. He said long rod was to prevent side loading and it revs quicker. The motor was his personal he freshened it up with calico coated bearings arp main studs new arp 2000 rod bolts so i could not go wrong. It went 10.50s in the high 120s with 15 year old out of the box bb2 heads in a 3500 nova.

Good combination. I like it. It's going to want to rpm a little, but it'll make some good tq with the right cam. I agree with Chris...you'll need more ex duration with those heads.

You can also stand a little more compression with that long rod.

Can you help me understand why the longer rod can use more compression as opposed to a 6.135 rod

Iam thinking of upgrading my combo to approx 500" large bore short stroke( 3.76) pump gas .

OP sori for hijack ..........just never thought about CR and rod length
