Watch for corrosion and breakdown (burning) of the conductors. Over time the higher load wires break down. You can see it at or near the connectors..

Look closely at them all; especially the ones on the engine harness and headlights... If you have gauges the ammeter ones on the instrument cluster are another problem area.
