I'm wanting to switch to a mini alternator and looking for advice from anyone who's already done it. Specs:
1969 chevelle, big block, electric water pump, manual steering box

Do mini's use the same mounting brackets as regular size?

I'd like to use a low mount, one wire setup, anybody got any good setups?
Thanks in advance!!

I have a similar one on a AH Sprite. The one I have is for a 1991 Geo Metro, has two mounting ears on one side and one on other. Its a Denso. It
still only 55 amps. I think you can get that one or a later model of it with higher amps. Check DB Electrical.
45 or 55 amps seems too low for those accessories.

This is one I run in my sons car has high amps 1 wire easy hook up. Fits in stock alternator brackets or aftermarket ones. SB or BB. 175 amps. Idle amps 145.
USA made Powermaster 847295-1

I run the Mechman Alternator 170 Amps for 63 thru 85 GM cars. Cost a little more but worth it. Alt runs my dual fans, water pump, CD ignition, fuel pump.

That mini is only 45 amp.
I converted my 6v 51 Chevy to 12v and an alternator in 1967.
The alternator is a 35amp Delco, external regulator (such as used on 63-65 Chevys). My 51 Chevy has the normal lights, 2 heaters, each with a blower motor, AND, AND, AND air cond. That 35amp alternator has been rebuilt ONCE since 1967 and still works like new, and the ammeter always shows +.
