The problem is the location of the shift arms on the Camaro‘s Saginaw 343 are positioned to far back to use with my column shift linkage. The Camaro trans I have came with a a 3 speed shifter - but the shifter requires mounting to the transmission crossmember. My Chevelle crossmember has no mounting point for this shifter. Is there a possible fix to this problem - or will I need to purchase another shifter that mounts to the transmission case ?
Swapping out my old Saginaw (non-syncronized) 3 speed manual trans for a fully synchronized Saginaw 3 speed from a 68 Camaro.

MikeN, I see in the background of your first picture you have the overdrive version of that Saginaw 3 speed. Those are nice for these old Chevys, and your shifter could be modified to fit around the solenoid.
